I ended up consolidating a list of technology conferences being held in India for one of my clients. Thought there may be others who will find it useful. I haven't attended any of these. However, by looking at the nature of the conferences, they seem to fall into a few broad categories: technology dissemination (e.g. Java, SAP), networking (Open source), addressing theoretical issues (FSTTCS), emerging area (data warehousing) etc.It is a matter of opinion as to which events are more interesting in a conference: coffee breaks or presentation sessions or lunch menu.
